WELCOME
Life, like the sea, is ever-changing. We all go through periods when the waves seem to keep getting higher and it gets difficult to stay afloat on our own.
As a psychotherapist, I offer you a safe space where, in complete tranquillity, you can look at what is happening in your life today and how you are responding to it. This is possible in individual sessions or with your partner in couples' therapy.
I combine warm empathy with decisive clarity in my approach. My method is rooted in trauma therapy, person-centred therapy and emotional work. I work from the deeply held conviction that significant change occurs when you decide to take full responsibility of your own life. My own life experience serves as the foundation for this. Dutch is my native language. I studied English and I provide therapy in English and Dutch.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY
You can share your story with me. We start with what isn’t feeling right in your life right now. I guide you through the emotions that need to be felt and help you find the words to describe what has happened to you. Why is this so painful?
We examine experiences from your family of origin or later in your life. Together, we will explore the undercurrent of your thoughts and emotions.
Step by step, you will develop the resilience and stability needed to take the helm of your life once again.

COUPLES THERAPY
As a couple, it is not an easy decision to go into therapy together. You are both welcome with your story. We start by looking at the friction that led you to seek help.
We’ll link this to similar situations in your relationship history and in your personal pasts. This will quickly reveal dynamics or patterns that are harmful to the relationship. The underlying emotional layer within each of you is given the opportunity to express itself safely.
This creates space once again for connection and growth between you, or clarity about the direction you wish to take.

WHO AM I?
I am fascinated by the deep connection between body, emotion and mind, and the story behind the story.
My journey in personal development began during a turbulent period in terms of work, relationships and health. I set out on this path through yoga, bodywork, therapy, Reconstructive therapy and dance therapy. I decided to explore this professionally by training in Trauma- and shadow-work, talk therapy and emotional bodywork (Reconstructive).
I also have extensive experience in supporting people in secondary education as a Dutch and English teacher, support staff member, coordinator and coach, and I once worked as a cultural journalist for VRT radio and De Morgen.
I grew up at the seaside, am the mother of two young adults and have a wonderful partner. Dancing, yoga, writing and walking in nature help me stay balanced and I immensely enjoy the cultural scene in Brussels.
